Description
“Piquillo” translates from Spanish as “little beak.” These small, cone-like peppers are generally 2 ½ inches long and boast a rich red coloring. These peppers are mild, sweet, and just a little bit tart. Grilling infuses them with an additional smoky flavor and a keen crunch.
These peppers do not have any heat to them, so even the softest of tongues can enjoy their flavor.
Many who enjoy piquillo peppers have them grilled, but they can also be used when prepared in other ways. From fresh and whole to chopped and stir-fried, these little peppers can flavor almost any dish.
